A Rhythmic Pulse of Color and Creativity
Some spaces tell stories. Others sing. Vibrant Joy does both, and it does so with a beat you can feel in your bones.
This single-family home, tucked away in east Louisville, underwent a complete gut renovation and creative rebirth led by the dynamic team at Natalie O Design. With a multidisciplinary approach and a flair for bold artistry, the studio brought new life into this modern architectural shell, infusing it with warmth, soul, and a kaleidoscopic sense of wonder.
The Vision: A Home That Embraces the Extraordinary
This wasn’t just a renovation, but a love letter to color, character, and creativity. Designed for a young, multicultural family, the space reflects the vibrancy of its owners’ lives and personalities. One partner, a tech professional with roots in Brooklyn and Austin. The other, a Kentucky native with a love for Star Wars, legos, rock and roll, and the quiet beauty of nature. Together, their shared story called for something far beyond beige.
Natalie O Design imagined a home where adventure was encouraged, creativity flowed freely, and every detail sparked curiosity. The result? A fully reimagined interior that’s as joyful as it is intentional.
Why Haustile?
Color was king in this project, and Haustile was the crown jewel. “If our client could have used all 120 colors of a Crayola box in this home, she would have,” the team shared. “As we walked through each space, the immersive colors and the way natural light danced between them... we knew we needed something graphic to ground it all."
Enter Haustile’s Centered Lines tile from our 'Real Fun, Wow!' collab, spreading across the entryway floor like butter. With its rhythmic patterns and visual vibrations, it brought movement and edge to an already vibrant palette, acting as the perfect counterpoint to the bold cabinetry and playful design elements.
In the ground floor bathroom, the Natalie O team conjured a moody, jewel-toned hideaway—where unexpected bursts of color dance amid the shadows, and our Anzu in Sin ripples across the floor like whispered secrets in motion. “The way the patterns keep your mind exploring from tile to tile created actual visual vibration in the space. The working relationship with Haustile, the offerings, and pure elation of the client with this juxtaposition of color and pattern brought it all together!"
The Result? Pure, Vibrant Joy.
From the first demolition to the final install, every phase of the project was built toward something magical. By the time “picture day” arrived, the house was practically buzzing with energy. “Elated clients, surprised craftsmen, and a very happy design team,” said Natalie O. “The cabinetry colors combined with the natural lighting did the heavy lifting. Haustile gave it a rhythmic pulse, like the best drummer.”
We’re honored to have played a part in this extraordinary home — one that proves that joy isn’t just a feeling. It’s a design choice.
